June - The Longest Day

Wednesday, 29 June 2016

Seminis has been a breeder of all types of onions for many years and is currently in the second year or evaluation of two new varieties; SV8528ND and SV1332ND in strip trials around the UK. These varieties have displayed good vigour this year confirming what has been seen in previous years. SV8528ND is an early mid-maturity variety with SV1332ND being a mid-season variety. Storage assessments have been finalized for the 2015 harvests and have been very positive showing both onions to have good long storage potential with bulbs having good skin retention and very good firmness.

These new varieties, along with our existing commercial portfolio, can be seen in the NIAB TAG Onion trials. The NIAB TAG open day will be held on 9th August. For further details please click here.

Further details on our existing Seminis portfolio can be found here or at /products/myonion/
